When Cole goes home and runs into his old rival, he finds out there is a very thin line between hate and lust.
As an overprotective older brother, Cole Wilde knew there wouldn't be a man good enough for his sister, Jessica. Still, that didn't prepare him for the news that she would be marrying one of the dreaded McCoven brothers.
All through his high school years, Bobby and his younger sibling, Andrew, made Cole's life a living hell. It didn't help matters that they belonged to a rival hockey team, so the feud carried over to the ice. Now, his sister tells him she's actually marrying Bobby, and she expects Cole to be happy about it?
Determined to change her mind, Cole flies home to confront her. Instead, he finds himself being sized for a tux as he's made a groomsman before he's whisked away to the rehearsal dinner. There, he runs into the other brother, Andrew. Cole is both shocked and dismayed to find himself drawn to the other man. Andrew wastes no time in letting him know the attraction goes both ways.
After a few too many drinks, the two end up sharing a night of passion that changes them both forever. But will Cole be able to let go of all his doubts and old resentments long enough to find his own happily ever after?
General Release Date: 13th September 2010
Cats had dogs, the Sharks had the Jets, the Hatfields had the McCoys, the Capulets had the Montagues. Everyone in life had their own enemy, an arch-nemesis, someone that never failed to make your blood boil. All through high school, Cole Wilder, lucky bastard that he was, had two: Bobby and Andrew McCoven.
Now five years later, he’d come back home to watch his baby sister, Jessica, marry one of the bunions of society. In the matter of a day, his little princess—the sweet thing he’d always doted on and protected—was going to become Mrs. Bobby McCoven.
No way. Not happening. Not as long as he had air left in his lungs to talk some sense into her. For months, he’d been trying to make her see reason. There had been countless phone calls, even more emails, none of which had worked. Jessica actually thought she loved the jerk. A lack of judgement that he’d never dreamed his normally level headed sibling capable of.
So it was up to him to save her from herself. Even though he’d told her he understood and was all on board for this wedding, the truth was he’d flown home in hopes of talking her out of making the biggest mistake of her life. He had only twenty-four hours to do it, too.
That’s how he found himself standing in the middle of Detroit Metro Airport, during what had to be one of the worst winters in Michigan’s history. He scowled as he looked out the window and was greeted by a dreary sky that promised more snow. He’d given up the warm and sun of Florida for sub-zero temps and sleet. Jessica so owed him.
Several loud thumps announced the arrival of the baggage as various suitcases, bags, and duffels were dumped onto the conveyor belt. Instead of looking anxiously for his bag like all the other new arrival passengers, Cole gave his watch an annoyed glance. Jessica had promised to be there to pick him up and, as always, she was late.
Of course, she could be doing it on purpose, just to punish him. Despite him acting like he’d accepted the marriage, he knew deep down Jessica wasn’t buying it. Separated by just a year, they two had always been close and she, more than anyone, knew when he lied.
