There are many aspects of this world that were attractive to me. I like how the shifter/human mentality was handled. We got a peek into Aleksi’s consciousness as a tiger. I liked how the cat came to an independent decision to trust Kale. I thought the way the first meeting between Aleksi’s cat and Kale was handled was fairly authentic feeling. The baddy in Purrfect Protector is interesting. He lends himself to the story. I would like to have known more about Caleb and Kale’s relationship in this installment. There were times I felt like I was missing something, but I don’t think anything that was missing was essential to my enjoyment of the tale as a whole.Review by Joyfully Jay
The paranormal aspect of this novel worked so well. I thoroughly believed that Aleksi could be an extinct animal—his prowess and quiet steely strength oozed off the page. On the same token, Kale was such a delightful “anti-twink.” All growly and demanding, I found Kale to be smart and clever and just the right match for the strong and dark Aleksi. This was no case of insta-love and in fact, it was rather refreshing to see both men push back against the idea of being mated or even be in a relationship. They both guarded their privacy and their need for space and I felt that really lent an air of believability to both characters.

I really enjoyed this different take where shifters live in a world that knows about them. The writing was good. I enjoyed how the relationship between Kale and Aleski played out. The plot kept me turning the page and I wanted the next book as soon as I finished.Review by Multitasking Mommas
It's strange but I did find this a cute story and there were a lot of lighthearted parts that sent me to giggle-land. Also, the writing style is so relaxed it was surprising to find I had reached the end. And wow, that was a beautiful set up if I may say so. Yes, I am definitely following this series. Purrfect Protector was an awesome mix of intrigue, love and humor. SA Welshhad this reader on the edge of my seat one minute and chuckling the next. Ms. Welsh’s writing placed me in front of the largest of the cats and I heard every rumble and purr emanating from within as Kale pet and cuddled with the large beast.
