A lady spy and a gentleman thief team up to locate a stolen painting and rediscover a passion that could have been lost with time. Burning Intensity brings El and James back together to solve a crime against the National Gallery of England. I really loved watching as El and James rediscovered their love and then moved it forward all while tracking down a missing painting. Their journey was filled with suspense and passion from start to finish. Burning Intensity takes you along the discovery of love while giving you just a touch of suspense.Review by BTSe Magazine
The author's writing style is conversational and addictive. Lapthorne does a first-class job weaving the thoughts, emotions and animated descriptions of each character in the story giving them depths from page one. The novel moves with fluidity as spy scenes transform into passionate love scenes. She captures actions, suspense and ecstacy in this exciting novel that is sure to keep the reader turning pages. Scintillating novel that I couldn't put down.Review by Literary Nymphs
The seventh book in The Agency series, Burning Intensity, has lots of intense moments between Eleanor and James. The author throws in a surprise about the Cezanne painting that had been stolen, but leaves it up in the air about what it is exactly. The storyline is not completely resolved in this book, so the next one should be interesting.

I liked both El and James. She’s a serious, dedicated professional, but James is a mighty fine distraction. Together they’re an unbeatable team in the search for the painting and in the bedroom… Ms. Lapthorne has a balanced touch in her writing, mingling romance, steamy sex, dialogue, humor, and danger together into a compelling whole.
Ms. Lapthorne is also one of the very few authors who has been writing erotic romance for over twelve years now, almost since the very start of the genre. That alone is a testament to the high quality of her stories.
