Review by Ali Isaac Storyteller
This book reminded me of Lord of the Flies; it had that same sinister atmosphere. It’s unnerving to see how brutal our sweet, precious children can become when left to their own devices in a deadly game of survival. This book may be for young people, but it does not come with a happy ever after. Although it stands alone as a complete story in itself, the ending makes it clear that there is more, much more to come, and I for one am tagging along for the ride down that next wormhole.

The author adds great description and paints a clear picture for the reader to understand how the world views have shifted. The dialogue between characters is clear and believable while the actions that the characters take follow the course of the change of humanity’s mindset. The author plays on the last bits of humanity and draws the reader into realistic ethical questions regarding the way the future will play out.
The overall story telling is great and the plot is very plausible; this is one series of futuristic events and time travel that you do not want to miss!

This is a fantastic story, but very dark and intense. The story is unique and the world-building excellent- along the lines of The Hunger Games or Walking Dead (without zombies).
This story captivated me and kept me on edge. I love how the author used the varying viewpoints of the male and the female characters in the story.
Ms. Dougherty does a fine job of upping the ante on the tension and suspense. When I got to the end I was definitely not ready for this wild ride to be over! I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. This a 5 Star must read for those who love dystopia, suspense, thrillers and strong, well-drawn characters.
