I received a copy of Dragon Dreams and Fairy Wings by Bailey Bradford from Pride Publishing. I enjoyed the mix of fantasy creatures in this story. The dragon Blaze and the fairy Griff both are unlike their peers, which makes them so much more interesting. It is obvious they are meant to be together. What makes the story an entertaining read is the adventures they have. Without any spoilers, this is a rich world the author has created with a different take on magic and with lots of secondary characters who need their own story to be told in the future. Unlike some first books in a series, this one has a very satisfying ending meeting Oscar Wilde’s definition of fiction: The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily.Review by Ramona Keebler
Griff (Love Fairy), has lost his wings and his memory is full of holes. Blaze (Fire Dragon), being punished, so he doesn’t have fire and can’t change to his dragon form. Two different species of beings with nothing in common except that they are each others destiny. On a quest to find Griff’s wings, they (by accident) attract some other oddballs along the way. Not sure I would call this an epic fantasy but it was definitely worth reading. Less world building than I like to see in this type of book though. Since it’s the first in a series I’ll give some leeway. Well written, the book captivated me from the beginning. Most of the characters were appealing, some repelling, but all together they created a a very visual story. Secrets are revealed, battles are fought, and remember, Griff is a LOVE fairy so there’s a lot of that too. I’ve also added a Caterwaul to my want list, just need to find one.Review by Ramona Keebler
