This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. It is beautifully written and easy to read. This is the story of Will Brewer and Blaine Stewart. Will is a painfully shy artist who loves his cat and his 80 year old neighbor Mrs. O'Grady. Blaine is a mechanic who is on the rebound from a bad breakup. He too is unable to avoid the manipulations of Mrs. O'Grady and finds himself meeting the neighbors sooner than he expected. This is their story. Sometimes what we think we need isn't what we need at all. Sometimes it is easier for others to see ourselves more clearly than we do. It is a quick read but it grabbed me from the beginning and didn't let go. And who doesn't love a happy ending. Reading this is time well spent. This is a sweet read and I really enjoyed how these two men, both of them hesitant to open themselves up, but for different reasons. Blain, although attracted to Will, had recently gotten out of a relationship and Will thinks he doesn't need anyone in his life. But thanks to their neighbor, Mrs. O'Grady, the sweetest woman who wants the best for both men, they don't stand a chance. A lovely, refreshing read!

This book has all the ingredients for an adorable romance— new neighbors with undeniable chemistry and complimenting personalities, a headstrong cat, and an even more headstrong octogenarian neighbor bent on getting them together. For the most part, the book delivers on its premise, although the level of neighborly meddling sometimes tipped over “charming” and into “irritatingly manipulative” for me, and I could have lived without the brief but unpleasant visit from Blain’s past. Overall, however, I liked Blain and Will, and the way they worked together, and their heartwarming love story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
