Review by Susan
I received a copy of Sun, Sea and Spotted Squid by Kristian Parker via IndiGo Marketing & Design in exchange for an honest review. I enjoy short reads in the summer and this book was a fun diversion. While Sam is the type of character who jumps to conclusions and has a hair-trigger temper, we’ve all known someone like him. Wolfgang is so deeply in the closet I’m surprised he was willing to venture out. While we don’t see Wolfgang’s coming-out moment, since this is a romance, it does happen, just not on page. (This is not a spoiler, since for most of us the definition of romance is a HEA at the end.) Part of what I enjoyed was googling all the locations, since being in the US even Manchester is exotic to me. I would read more by this author, if only for their fascinating settings.
