This book is actually the story of two main couples. Rael and Jean-Luc—Human and Vampire—Soulmates Rael, pretending to be someone else to smoke out a bad guy, didn’t know he would meet his soulmate under false pretense's. Jean-Luc, an ancient vampire. He never expected to fall in love with a human. He was definitely a volatile person. Alvin and Petru—Sea-borne Shifter and Lycan—Fated Mates Petru is on the luxurious tropical island to protect his charges and help Petru find out who might be a blackmailer. Finding his fated mate was everything. Alvin knows he will belong to Petru but is worried about his future. I liked all the characters in the book. Lots of divergent personalities with different skills. It wasn’t real long so not a lot of story development time. The mystery was pretty simple and solved neatly to round out the story. Squidly is the best character ever. Now everyone is going to want their own magical octopus.
