This gripping story had me hooked right from the start and for much of it I was on the edge of my seat. Second chance stories are one of my favorites and this one is so good! I think Thom Collins really knocked it out of the park with this one. There were a couple of places that I was literally holding my breath because I was afraid to find out what was coming next. There was even one spot where I had to take a break because I feared what was going to happen to a favorite secondary character from this series. (Minor spoiler: thankfully it didn't happen). I also love how very British this series is. This US reader truly enjoys reading stories that use words and phrases that I wouldn't normally see in a book set in the US. There were many nail-biting moments but things really heated up towards the end. And, of course, Andy and Jerico get their well-deserved happy ending. A copy of this book was provided to me at my request. Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions dot com

Jagged Ends by Thom Collins is that rare book - the last of a series that can stand alone. Beyond that, the book is full of suspense due to the villain. At one point it looked as though the cat in the story would fall victim to the bad guy, which would be a DNF for me. I was glad that did not happen. It was refreshing that the main characters, Jericho the chef and Andy the hotelier, were both at a point in their lives when meeting an old flame led to a genuine second chance with both men willing to work at making a new relationship on the embers of the old. It was entertaining to see Jerico finding a place for himself in the busy life of Andy. Andy’s friends helped make Jerico feel part of their group, something Jerico has not had for years due to his peripatetic lifestyle. As Andy and Jerico grew closer again, Jericho revealed more about his enemy as the intrigue ratcheted up. The ending is satisfying, as the bad guy gets his just desserts and all the couples enjoy their HEAs.
